About me

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist & Psychological Consultant residing in Southern California. Throughout my career, I have felt a pull to expand the reach of psychology and the ways psychologists can serve our society. I strive to impact individual and collective mental wellness via a variety of channels and touch points, whether it be through the media we consume, the places where we work, clinical services such as therapy, or digital solutions to raise the standard for maternal care.

My maternal health services aim to improve the abysmal state of postpartum care in the United States; I’m the founder of Maite Health, a tech enabled venture focused on proactive, comprehensive postpartum care. My clinical work is focused on individual therapy with adults; clinical interests include maternal mental health, trauma, anxiety, and resilience — particularly with women, young adults, and underserved populations.

Consultation services allow me to utilize my clinical expertise in non traditional spaces. My corporate consulting services center around improving employee mental health and wellbeing, with a niche specialty in teams dealing with sensitive content. Providing consultation services to the entertainment industry allows me to combine my lifelong passion for the performing arts with in-depth psychological expertise, focusing on how productions depict psychological themes and complex characters.

I attended Barnard College, Columbia University in New York City and graduated magna cum laude with a major in Psychology — and a lifelong love for New York! I received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where I furthered my passion for understanding mental health within the context of multilayered communities.

Over the years my aim to expand the reach of psychology has taken many forms: from developing health promotion programs in Latin America during graduate school, to creating workshops and multimedia resources during my time working in universities, to my current consulting and fem tech work. Apart from providing short / mid / long term therapy to individuals and in group settings, I have also provided training and supervision to graduate students and held leadership roles in university counseling centers.

I believe deeply that we are all capable of growth, compassion, and connection, and I am honored to help others share their stories and recognize their own power.
